Synopsis of Program: The National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program Noyce invites innovative proposals that address the critical need for recruiting, preparing, and retaining highly effective elementary and secondary mathematics and science teachers and teacher leaders in high-need school districts. It also supports experienced, exemplary K STEM teachers to become teacher leaders in high-need school districts. In addition, Noyce supports research on the effectiveness and retention of K STEM teachers in high-need school districts. In addition, Capacity Building proposals are accepted from proposers intending to develop a proposal in any of the program's tracks. REVIEW OF LITERATURE ON FACTORS INFLUENCING ATTRITION AND RETENTION
Teacher education TE TE or teacher training refers to the policies, procedures, and provision designed to equip prospective teachers with the knowledge , attitudes , behaviors , and skills they require to perform their tasks effectively in the classroom , school , and wider community. The professionals who engage in training the prospective teachers are called teacher educators or, in some contexts, teacher trainers. There is a longstanding and ongoing debate about the most appropriate term to describe these activities.
